Dee got her staples out on Tuesday. Very happy, now she can sleep better throughout the night Her incisions have practically disappeared. It's amazing how quickly they recover. She's getting very anxious to walk around all the time. She doesn't mind being held but when i'm holding her while walking, she wants to get down! I let her walk around a little bit more just to satisfy that urge. She's walking better than the few days before surgery but she's still a little weak. I'm hoping in a few more weeks i can say whether it was 100% successful or not. I think it's natural to have that fear of it not being perfect. But we will see!

3 weeks post op and Dee is doing really well! Over the weekend she seemed to be not quite limping.. but not putting full weight on one of her back legs, and walking a little awkward. I got really worried but did some research and found a little limping here and there is normal. The next morning she was completely fine. She's walking normal i would say, albeit a little slow, a bit of stiffness right away in the morning but i can tell that's already improving from what it was pre-surgery. Besides jumping off the couch once, she's had no other mishaps. Now that she can walk better i usually don't keep her on furniture. I also have both ends of the staircase blocked off by a 2ft. high piece of plywood (baby gates are too spendy!) so that way if i turn my back quick i don't worry about her going up or down. I don't think she would anyway. She hasn't even tried to jump up on furniture (but she rarely did anyway so i guess it's somewhat normal). Even the small step coming inside from the front door she thought about it but just waited for me to pick her up. I still keep her in a small pen at night and during the day but if i'm at my computer or doing some cleaning i'll let her walk around within the room at least. Will update again soon!

It's been a few weeks since my last update. Two weeks ago i noticed a lump on one of her back legs. It's in the middle of her leg, not on the incision area. Took her to the vet and they said it's normal part of recovery. She does still have the lump, hasn't grown in size, and doesn't seem to be bothering her. This past week I've been laying her on her back and stretching out her back legs and I've noticed almost like a pop in one of her legs. I can't explain it i guess, i can't tell if it's her knee popping or if it's muscle moving on the bone? I have no idea. She doesn't limp, she walks fine (considering she's one month post-op), her activity level is normal, eating and drinking fine, the only thing I have noticed is when she squats to pee she seems to put weight more on the other leg I haven't noticed this issue in. But she's always sort of done that so i don't know if it has any correlation. She has a vet appt. with the surgeon on Monday. Hoping it's no big deal but of course I would only blame myself if something did go wrong because she jumped off the couch 2 weeks post op.
