| I don't think you should blame yourself. Even knowing how things happen does not always prevent them!

| I agree! Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but it's not all-powerful. For instance, we all know what can happen when we drive a car, but we can't always prevent an accident. This is in no way your fault, and you are doing all you can for your sweet baby. And that is what counts! Sending you big hugs!

| I wasn't aware they had back issues, either. I'm so sorry. Keeping your sweet Bailey in my prayers.

| I received the choke-free shoulder harnesses for the boys today!!! This is what the vet recommended! I had several for Remy (in fact her sb - curri bee gave her a new one this GE ) because I was worried about trekia issues...but I have learned that walking dogs with a leash attached to collars can cause back and neck issues too. It is true you can't prevent all problems... but by posting here I may help someone else. Moral --- down with collars The vet said we could do a very short walk with Bailey using the harness. We didn't go far -- partly because he was slow and because I really hurt my foot the other day. I am so glad it is summer and because I am a teacher I will have some time off... I need it
