| Day 3 post surgery.. Seymour is still doing well.... he doesn't seem to have much pain and the vet specialist was very good about making a prescription "cocktail" for him that I can monitor and adjust according to his pain level..... She & I both agree that we don't want Seymour to be over-medicated but comfortable. I CAN DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS SPECIALIST to others in the Kentucky area if you need a good vet specialist.... just PM me for the info. He is starting to feel better about putting a little weight on his leg when he stands.... at first he was afraid to, understandably so. I think it will be nice enough to take him out on his leash this morning for awhile (5 minutes at a time... 3-4 times a day). Hope you all have a good weekend.... mine will be spent spoiling my "patient" and the other 2 furbutts.

| I am just seeing this thread, I am so glad to hear Seymour he is doing well. It's so sad to hear about your BIL but like you say he is now out of pain and at peace. My condolences to you all.

| Yes, Crystalsmom.... it is difficult to say good-bye ... but it would be selfish to wish him still here with pain and suffering. He is at peace and I am at peace with that. Thank-you all for the kind words.

No, from what I understand he does not have any plates or screws. The specialist we used said she normally does not use them with the smallest breeds. Seymour had several procedures: A block recession trochleoplasty, a lateral joint capsule imbrication, and a medial release. He had a lateral fabellar suture also (to assist with the ACL injury result). Sorry about all the big words, but it might be easier for you to look it up rather than a long explaination. I guess we will start physical therapy in 2 weeks..... will Kacee be having any outside physical therapy or are you able to do it at home?

Kacee is not requiring physical therapy. She has full use. I've seen her stretch a few times this week and she has impressed me with how well she is doing. I don't start her on five-minute walks until Thursday and we'll do that for two weeks and then on weeks 5 & 6, 10 minute walks, weeks 7 & 8, 15 minute walks. I think my main concern will be keeping my rambunctious puppy under control! We go back July 18th for the last? checkup and they will do x-rays at that time.

| Just a quick update on Seymour.... it has been a week since we took seymour home from his surgery... and he is doing wonderful. We are still limiting his activities but he is starting to get a little more difficult... he wants more freedom! His incision looks wonderful and when he does walk (4 times a day for 5 minutes) he has been putting weight on it.... still limping a little but the little dude is doing great!!! I am sure as he heals it will be easier and once the physical therapy starts it will help him with his range of movement and make it even easier. Thanks for all the well wishes for Seymour!!!

| Just thinking about Seymour today and wondering how he is doing now. Did he do physical therapy?
