Seymour - surgery. :( I haven't posted due to a death in our family, but Seymour was suppose to have surgery last week.... it was postponed due to the funeral of my brother-in-law who lost his battle with cancer. It was difficult to say good-bye to him, but knowing he is free from pain is a blessing. As far as Seymour, The specialist that will be performing the surgery said that waiting a week wouldn't be a problem so now he will be scheduled for it this week. Seymour had a grade 2 LP on his back left leg, which is normally something that doesn't require surgery. But he somehow injured himself while we were at work and was limping when we got home, to off to the vet we went. He has an ACL injury also. The surgery that will take place will consist of correcting the LP and also doing a procedure to assist the ACL to heal and keep it from re-injury. I will let you all know what day he will be scheduled .... I will be talking to his surgeon today. Please keep the little "dancing bear" in your prayers. :animal36 |

So sorry for the loss of BIL. Sending good thoughts and prayers for Seymour's surgery this Thursday. |
Thank-you..... my emotions have been crazy. Of course I am nervous for Seymour on Thursday, but I DO know that we are doing what is best for him. The orthopedic vet that we had seen in Cincinnati years ago, has retired, but I am very confident with the surgeon that we have chosen. SHE is a very compassionate and thorough. We had a wonderful consultation and everything that is going to be done is in our little guys best interest. |
Awh Seymour you will come through that surgery with flying colors! And my condolences for the loss of your BIL. |

Hello ..... just an update on Seymour. He was scheduled for his surgery this morning, but due to an emergency, his surgery didn't happen until 3 this afternoon. He had a very successful surgery and had no issues with the anesthesia. He woke up very easily and was comfortably resting when I left the office. I didn't see him because I thought it would make him restless and definitely didn't want that. His ACL was badly torn and the groove for his patella was also very shallow. He has a vet and a tech with him all night and they will make sure he is comfy. I called just a few minutes ago and the tech had just checked his vitals and his temperature and it was all good. I will call again in a few more hours to see if he has had some water or if he was interested in a few bites of food. Thank you all for the well wishes for my little "dancing bear". We can't wait to have him back at home tomorrow afternoon. His big Sis and lil bro miss him terribly... (they seem to be a little "down"). |
