A signature symptom of Parvo is bloody stools....(?but not explosive bloody diarrhea, I dont think ???) and a drop in body temp.....I am just thinking outloud....not trying to make guesses about a little soul I can not even see and feel....I am NOT a vet and I could easily be way wrong....

I pray all goes well. I know it can be nerve wrenching waiting for answers. I don't know about anyone else here but I have experienced even human doctors that wont give immediate information. This is unfortunate but some medical practices are like this. Don't feel that you did anything wrong. Some doctors make you feel that you are nagging but you aren't because you are concerned. I had to drop off Kirby a few months ago because her vet was in surgery and they urged me to go to work. Fortunately for me my vet has a very caring staff and they called my cell with updates and information until I went back within a few hours. I feel you deserve answers and if you feel that you weren't treated properly perhaps another vet practice is in order. However, if you feel comfortable and confident about your vet it is your choice. The most important thing is that your poor darling gets the medical attention needed. Stay strong and positive.

She is staying the night at the vet clinic Even though I don't like it, I know it is what is best for her. The vet said he is not really sure what it is, but that it is some kind of bacteria because it is responding to antibiotics, he said that he would rather wait to discuss possibilities with me until he has the lab reports. The only thing I know for sure is that it is not parvo.

And that all the stool tests came back negative, so now we have to wait for the blood tests to come back from the lab. He said he is treating her symptomatically along with the iv fluids and the antibiotics. So we are in a holding pattern and just doing a lot of praying right now. I went to see her before the office closed and she looks a lot better than she did, but still not great. She was happy to see me though and I got a couple of tail wags out of it. I will go over and visit with her first thing tomorrow morning. I will keep you posted

Precious little soul!!! Still wagging her darling little tail when she sees her mommy.....OMG....I just adore these little babies, sooooo good, soo precious, sooooooo loyal and devoted...she is fighting hard and you stay strong for her....sounds to me like your vet is doing what he can to keep her alive while he tries to pin down a diagnosis....I wonder if he thought to do blood cultures....the lower body temp is classic symptom of septicemia in humans...but if her H/H is low, that could be it too....dont know if that is the same for dogs....here again, just thinking out loud, not trying to second guess your vet.....I am just thrilled she seems to be responding to whatever it is he is doing....You and your baby are in my prayers tonight, anxious to hear how she is doing in the am....

JUst got back from spending time with Baya, and getting some groceries. She is doing really well this morning, finally holding her temp up! She is nibbling but not really eating; however, urine output is good and she is drinking well on her own. The vomiting and diarrhea have stopped and her eyes are not as glassy as they were yesterday. The vet said that as long as she does ok tonight and tomorrow I can take her home on Monday. I will be going back around 8 tonight (when the vet goes to tuck everyone in) to visit with her for a little while. Thank you all for your kind words and support.

| Oh, I am so happy to hear that your little Baya is doing so much better!! I know you must feel like someone lifted a heavy weight off of your shoulders. It is so difficult when they are sick like that. Keeping her in my prayers..
