| ![]() I'm sorry your pup has parvo! I hope he gets better soon. Sending good vibes. Adults are not as susceptible to it. If your dog has the parvo booster at one year old, it will still be in their systems years later. Re-vaccinating over and over again does nothing - your dog is not ANY more protected getting vaccines every year than if they got them every 3 years for example. Because it's the SAME exact vaccine. There is no difference between "1 year" or "3 year" or whatever. So getting your dogs vaccinated every year is not protecting them in any way and all you are doing is adding unnecessary chemicals into their body year after year. Boosters don't booster anything. You are either immune or you aren't. Have you had any of your infant and childhood shots boostered to protect you further from diseases? Most likely not... because you are still immune.

| ![]() Actually, when I was pregnant the bloodwork showed I was not immune to the German Measles ( I think that was it...). I had all my kiddie shots, my dad was a pediatrician, so I had them all then some. Sometimes the immunity can wear off. I had to be-vaccinated. It is not common though. I will probably follow the vet's advice per vaccines and use the internet to find questions that I should ask about frequency so as not to overdo them, but still be safe. From this site I have learned that I won't do rabies at the same time again and I will question the Lepto because Maggie did have some reaction. She was very sore (I barely remember but I think she was trembling and acting like something hurt), to the point that I called the vet because she was not acting right. Gave her baby aspirin (1/2 tab) and she felt better. She was about 8.5-9 pounds at the time. |

That's wonderful news! Parvo can be devastating and is super serious, so it's amazing that he's better so quickly. Amazing!!! I suppose the vaccines must enhance the pup's ability to fight it off, maybe?
