Did she say it in a way that now has your attention to the severity of the situation? ![]() She gave you great advice. You should take it. Undersized Yorkies (and other breeds termed "teacup size" are glorified way too much-no one is picking on people with them, but stating facts about them being special needs dogs not a handy carry size dog. That's only the pitfalls shoudl they not have the common health issues. Weather you have one or sought out one, all she did was offer really sage advice on how to ensure his safety. Many responsible breeders whom have to pet out an undersized pup will not allow the dog to go to ta home with other dogs, small children or someone who cannot offer them undivided attention almost 24 hours a day-they are special needs dogs.

| ![]() Not sure where to start with this one. I probably see this a little different since I have had and still have several tinies. I do not bred any female under 5 lbs. My males are usually 4 to 5 1/2 lbs. I breed hoping to get puppies in the 4 to 5 lb range. Knowing that there are ancestors in at least one of my males past, I do get tinies. It is true tinies do not need to climb. That is easier said than done because they can scale things like a cat. I would never buy a tiny, but this person rescued the tiny. The puppy was already here and better than have him euthanized, she is giving him a chance. To the OP, get you some nutrical, Dyne, pedialyte, natural puppy fading drops, etc. and make it a habit to give it morning and night to your baby. If he is having sugar drops, he can die if you arent around to help him.I have only had one that had a real problem with this and the above listed items helped us get through her rough time. Usually they outgrow it. Also, keep giving her/him Esbilac Goats milk with her food. Free Feed her also. She needs bits of her food in her system at all times. I guess I am different in that my tinies (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lbs.) do play with some of my younger smaller dogs and do well with them. I am talking about playing with a 4 to 5 1/2 lbs. dog, not 8 or 10 lb. yorkies. I really have had very little trouble with tinies. I think they are like the pitties, been given a bad rap. Of course I am talking about a healthy tiny where there is nothing wrong with it other than size. There are several issues that could keep your tiny - tiny - and that is a different situation. I currently have a 2 1/2 lb. female who is 8 years old. No problems other than dental, a 6 year old that weighs 3 lbs. with no issues, and a 8 week old who weighs 4 oz., so who knows where this last one is going. She was supplemented the first two weeks and after that she is an aggressive nurser and can push her sister out of the way for a nipple. LOL
