Did she say it in a way that now has your attention to the severity of the situation?

You should take it.
Undersized Yorkies (and other breeds termed "teacup size" are glorified way too much-no one is picking on people with them, but stating facts about them being special needs dogs not a handy carry size dog. That's only the pitfalls shoudl they not have the common health issues.
Weather you have one or sought out one, all she did was offer really sage advice on how to ensure his safety.
Many responsible breeders whom have to pet out an undersized pup will not allow the dog to go to ta home with other dogs, small children or someone who cannot offer them undivided attention almost 24 hours a day-
they are special needs dogs.
