| I'm assuming you will be taking her to the vet to make sure all is well and that everything that needs to be out is out? I would talk to your vet about this as well. My Yorkies never gave birth but my labs did and she "lost" a couple before as well. With CJ I just moved her to a different area of the house cleaned the area she gave birth in so that no *smells* were left, I kept her close and babied her for a good week. She deserved it and she was sooo sad. I would suggest a cuddlepuppy and lots of attention. I'm sure some real breeders will be around to help. I am so sorry this happened to her and you, take care of both of you.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | So sorry you for your loss, ok, when I loose a singleton, I do bleach the whelping area well, make sure your girl has a soft stuff toy to carry around this behavior will last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, you have to also help her to get rid of ther milk production, I personally use Dry Parsley in the feedings to help her dry up fast.and last but not least, I will suggest getting her spayed. hugs and best of luck.. |

| I am so sorry about your loss and what your little girl is going through. I think the cuddlepuppy someone mentioned is a great idea. The one I ordered for Dudley has the little heart beat. Maybe that would really help her along with alot of loves and kisses. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I put about 1/4 of a teaspoon in every feeding, my dogs regularly eat 2 times a day, and in her nipples yes, warm compresses are good. the Parsley should work in a week or two you should start seeing her nipples getting quite smaller as her milk dries out.. hugs, |

| I am so sorry for your little lady....everyone has already suggested the things I did to help Hailee get through her grief of loosing her baby. For whelping, I use a large cardboard box (30" x 38" x 8" deep) with shredded newspaper for softness, covered with large disposable pee pads...as my girls give birth, I pull the top pad off and discard, leaving a clean pad for the next puppy's birth....In little Hailee's case, I tossed the entire box...no familiar smells to fret over....she did search all over the bedroom for her baby....she collected ALL her stuffed toys and put them in her satin bed, where she arranged them and cuddled with them....she did this for about 3 weeks...I didnt think she would EVER get over this, and it was breaking my heart watching it...she would even bring me "her babies" to put them up in my bed so we could all sleep together.....she eventually moved on...I gave her TONS of extra love and care and attention during this time, sitting with her and her bed and her "babies", while we all watched TV....I also applied warm compresses to her teats, (draping a towel heated in the microwave and then placed in a plastic bag to retain the heat), across MY forearm, and placing Hailee straddling my arm, her belly on the warm towel, at least three times a day....that and the dry parsley dried her up with no incident. |

| When I was little my dog JoJo lost a pup. She we got her a few toys and she made one of them her "baby". She would sleep with it, carry it around and would only let my dad and I get near it. She had that "baby" until she went to the rainbow bridge.

| I'm so sorry that you lost your little one. I have never breed mine but my little shorkie had a false pregnancy once. She would carry her stuffed bear every where with her and would lie on the floor and curl around it like she was nursing it. It took her about 1 1/2 months to get better but to this day she has to have her stuffed bear. If we can't find where she has laid it at bedtime we might as well stay up looking for it because she won't do anything but sit up in the bed and whine until she gets it. The breeder sent it home with her which was almost 6 years ago. It's ragged and I've had to do some sewing on it but heaven help us if we ever lose it. She has a basket full of stuffed toys and she plays with them but has to have that bear at bedtime. One of the pics in my avatar is Izzie and she has her baby there.
