YT 2000 Club Member | Still keeping Bella in my thoughts and prayers. She's got me stumped as to why she won't eat. Jazzie did the same thing when she came to us 2 months ago, but she is a year and a half and weighed 3 pounds. I was stressed to the max with her not eating, trying to encourage her with all that I had. Finally, I backed off and she did eat when she got hungry, but you obviously can't do that with Bella, at her age and weight, it's way to dangerous. Have you tried adding a bit of water to the kibble and letting it get soft and then seeing if she'll eat it like that? I had to do that with Mags for almost 3 months when she came to us. She was 5 weeks old, 1 pound 2 ounces.

Prairie comes in kibble and canned, and does contain grains. Commercially prepared raw food (for most any brand) comes in medallions (usually one ounce), patties (usually 8 oz), and chubs. It is frozen, and you can just take out a few medallions at a time to thaw for your dog. It is meat, veggies, vitamins, etc, and yes, it really is raw meat. It is pasteurized using high pressure, so it is free of bacteria. It sort of looks like canned food, but doesn't smell. Bella seems a bit young to have already developed a food allergy, but I guess anything is possible. I have read here that there are dogs that are allergic to chicken in processed dog foods that are able to handle it if raw.

| Another great day for baby Bella! She is having great week playing, barking and following us around. She rarely wants to take her naps now but I make sure she rests. Some is still eating the chicken on her own. But won't touch her hard food. We still syringe feed her. What kinds of supplements should we give her? I plan to get some sweet potatoes. She didn't take to th rice yet. Thanks again to everyone for your prayers and well wishes! we have our sweet puppy back!

| Yay, maybe you have finally found something that Bella will consistently eat! Seeing her playing and barking etc. must do your heart good after such a trying time. You have gotten lots of good advice and seem to have a wonderful Vet now and it sounds like maybe you have found something Bella will eat on her own. Wonderful news! Hope things continue to improve. You have done an amazing job with this little one. I don't think she could possibly be in better hands. |

| wow just read this thread for the first time You are an amazing mom and there has been so much good advice given from everyone that it is so nice to see all this support. I have just a couple of things to suggest, but please check with your vet or Carmen so it does not interfere with what has been working so far. I am pretty sure I have the same treats you just bought and if so they are made in China. I cannot decide if I should throw them out in light of all the problems with pet food products coming from there. Lola has been eating them since Christmas, but I make sure it is only a few times a week and she seems fine . Sweet potatoes are good for dogs so I often make my own treats with them. I cook a fresh whole one to the point they are still firm but not raw and cut them into thin french fry size pieces. You can also cook them until they are very soft and add to the chicken you have been feeding her and mix it with a bit of her dog kibble, if the kibble is coated with something she likes she might eat it then. I have also heard from vets that pumkin and cottage cheese is also OK. But like I said earlier please double check with the vet on any of mine or other people suggestions. We would love to see some photos, perhaps if you email them to Carmen she can post them and when you have more time one of us can explain how you can do it. Prayers and kisses for little Bella |

| In reference to the breeder if she will not reimburse you for your expenses I would start to compile evidence that could cause her a lot of grief. After you gather your information tell her you expect to be reimbursed or you will take various actions. Here are some ideas that could wind up costing her more than what she would have to pay you. This will work because my sister got a Yorkie that had problems such as ring worm which she caught. 1. What does it say on the papers about her date of birth, and her shots. If she lied on that, that would be fraud. 2. Check with several departments in the State to see what are the required licenses and practices for operating a kennel. They might be in violation of several things and be fined or even lose their licence. 3. Are the dogs they sell AKC registered, if so reporting her practices to them could cause them to do at the least an inspection. 4. Take to the internet, look for places like the phone book on line that will give you a place to comment and rate a business. There are even rip off websites where you can post information about them on and each time someone googles their name the info will come up. 5. If they sell other breeds find all the fourm based websites like YT for each breed the sell and tell your story there. 6. Often the local TV stations will have segments like Action 7, Ruth to the Rescue and so forth where the will help you get justice on a bad business deal, and lets face it most people are interested in a pet story. I know it takes time and you are exhausted now, but I would be so furious that I would want them to pay for their BAD and INHUMANE business practices. I am a pretty good writer when I want to be if you want to pursue any of these things I will try to help you if I can. |

| two questions, what is the name and the location of the breeder, I know it was posted and now I can not find it I know this is to late now, but I was wondering if when a very small puppy is taken away before they were weaned, could it be taken to another nursing dog. I have seen stories like this in the news where a lab will nurse a baby lion or so forth. I know in this case with the puppy having that infection it might not work but it got me thinking |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | yes, is posible My chanel raised a morkie that belong to a lady in my town, when her bitch died due to a low calcium episode, but when a baby is sick, is not a smart thing to do since you are risking the whole litter. On a side note, this is why is important to know and have a mentor because this things happen and she approach my mentor, who is a very well known Alaskan Malamute breeder of 26 + years in my town and she called me knowing that I just had a litter that week also, and her puppy now is doing great thanks to my Chanel... |
