| Cookie is definitely a cutie pie. LOVE the heart shaped glasses. And glad to hear she's improving every day and might not have to continue the meds. Paws and fingers crossed!

| I thought the glasses would be cute since the skulls have heart shaped eyes. I don't know if that is what I will submit. I will let her date Barney decide.

| glad you pup is doing well, I had a dog that got that about 12 years ago at about age four, it lived about 5 years longer, but I think he could have gone longer, for the first two weeks he was on daily prednisone, then he went to 2 x's a week and I think he ate a vet recommended food. After the Christmas holdidays he started loosing weight, instead of realizing that stress could have been the factor on the weight loss because he had lost his best friend and older sister in Nov. and then we went on a 12 hour drive back and forth to stay with family during Christmas who had an agressive yorkie. We were worried so we took him to the vet, who said this is how the disease progresses so he upted the pred to a few times a day and this went on for close to a month. I feel now feel strongly that we over medicated and it wound up ruining his pancrease to the point he just keep having tardy runny stools many- many times during the day, I took him to MI state vet hospital which is nationaly known for vet sciences. At that point there was nothing that they could do to reverse the damage done to the pancrease, he got so weak because of all the diarrah that we finally put him down the day before valentines day, it was very sad especially since my husband and I blamed ourselves for over reacting to the weight loss around the stressful time of the holidays. There is more known today about the problem and it sounds like you are covering all your basis, just be very very careful with the dosages. good luck and prayers for a long life with your precious pups. BTW this dog came from a well known and respected show breeder, and no one in the circuit seemed to know of other dogs of hers that had this, so you just never know. (this post is a spelling mess, sp check is not working for me and I have to sign off) |

| I am so sorry....you really should not blame yourself though. You did what you thought was best and I am sure the vets did as well. It is true that more is known now about this illness. The specialist was saying that when I was there....and he did say that diet is the key. The plan is to get her off of the prednisone...she did need it for the other issues but I have a strong feeling he will be weaning her off this coming week. She has an appt a week from today.

| Cookie is adorable in her dress and glasses. Barney wants to know if they can skip the Valentines Ball and just hang out in his stroller. Glad she is doing so well.
