| First time mommy's furbaby won't stop VOMITING HEEELLP!! Somebody please give me advice! I searched the old threads and didn't find an answer so here I go. About thirty minutes ago my yorkie Banksy started vomiting and hasn't stopped. He looks very scared/worried and seems to be trying to run away from himself every time he starts heaving. He is 5 months old and current on all his shots. my vet clinic is closed until the morning. Please help this worried sick mommy!! Anything will help! Eden just chime in with comforting words. We are home alone and I am almost in tears. I hope my baby is going to be okay. |

| Please take him to the vet ASAP. He could get dehydrated very fast so this is your best option. Hope he gets better soon. Susan |

| Please let us know how he is doing. I'm really hoping you have already taken him to a vet. In the future, and to anyone reading this thread....DON'T wait to take them to the vet when the the office opens. Take them to an emergency vet ASAP. They depend on us to do what is BEST for them. Hugs to little Banksy and please update as when you can.

| I hope you have taken the baby to the vet. Vomiting can be caused by many things so an expert (vet) is the best way to go. Hope everything is ok.

| UPDATE Thank you to everyone who replied. We were home alone, my hubby was at work with the car and I don't have friends or family members in my area so i wasn't able to take him to an emergency very. I did call the emergency vet clinic and the nurse (?) Said that if he is able to drink water and stops vomiting in under an hour to just monitor him through the night. Funny Firgrove is our vet, thanks whoever recommended it This morning he woke up and was like normal. Playing and drinking. I still didn't give him his food back. |

| MissJenna, 2 years ago, my 6 year vomited like this. As soon as I figured out which one of my dogs vomited I went immediately to the vet. He had Hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. This is a deadly situation for dogs. There is a 24 hour window to recieve treatment. After that, the chances for survival decrease. I made it there in time. We spent 4 days in an ICU situation. He is hardy and full of P&V now. The vet told me that anytime the vomit more than three times, it is imparative to seek treatment. I am very glad your fella is better. If you are witholding food, watch out for hypoglycemia! A little honey on your finger for him to lick works well. Karo syrup is good too! |
