It is such a fast acting strain my vet seems pretty scared of it- I think he'd assumed I'd missed something when he 1st saw Toby, but now he can't understand how it can progress so fast- it usually takes a fair while to take hold apparently. once I told the trainer how fast and hard it hit he is going to let Everyone know it could be going about (and make note of any regulars that don't show up tomorrow to call and check on them. When I was in the vets with kuki (well, sitting waiting to bring her in from the car) another yorkie was waiting to be seen... He was a longer haired Toby looking right at me, I started crying at this poor womans dog, but when I came out with kuk I assume she'd overheard the vet talking and she Got why, cuz she looked quite upset. Even yorkies we don't know can still seem to manage to make us cry... Pop is curled up at my feet and kuk is lying on my pillow, and kitty's beside me (so far with no temp or symptoms) so seem happy enough- I managed to get them to eat ok tonight, so with any luck we caught it on the very early stages with the girls... And now I have to try and quarantine my backyard from them (still in grass) until spring when I'm getting it concreted- easier to bleach down! Sorry everyone, I'm just ranting now. But everyone needs to promise me one thing, and make friends and family with yorkies promise to- that you will Never say 'it's just a tummy bug'. get them to the vet right there and then; I'd rather vets worldwide be sick of seeing yorkies than this happen to anyone else. Heading to bed for ![]()

| ![]() gastroenteritis doesn't really describe the virus or bacteria that's just a general term for stomach upset. i wish you knew what the actual disease or illness was from. maybe it's just an unknown cause or unknown bug. either way praying for the pups to get better. |

| ![]() i'm sorry if that sounded rude. i didn't mean it to sound so emotionless. i am really really hurting for you over Toby and praying for healing for the other pups. i really hope you guys find out if it's going around your area and what exactly the strain is because it sounds horrible and i sure hope it can be figured out and treated before more pups get sick or worse ![]() |

| ![]() That's why I should proof read! It was supposed to read 'just that it's...' now that I've been told 'it's been going around' I'm going to see if he can narrow it down when I take kuki back tomorrow- but asking about the strain wasn't top of my list. Don't worry, I knew where you were coming from... And hopefully if I can find the cause, then Toby can have helped save other babies- since people can be told what to watch for, and vets know what to treat for... I've already told the dog warden I'll let him know if I find out more about it.
