I'm new here, but I just wanted to add my sympathy for your loss.

This time of year, I think of anti-freeze as a possible source of poisoning.

My heart breaks for you and I hope you can get lab results. It won't change anything but you need to know what happened either from product on the ground to the potential of the neighbor(s).

I had a Black Lab that I dearly loved who was fed anti-freeze. This was about 20 years ago when vets didn't know as much about this product. His first signs were vomitting and diarria around the house. I took him to the vet and they hooked him up to IV's etc. Sent samples to the lab (Michigan State Vet School) which took 2 painful days for Smokey to get back when we found out what he had eaten. There was nothing we could do so I crawled into his cage and held him in my arms and ended his pain. I still cry to this day about Smokey and get very angry because the companies that make this product could put something in the ani-freeze so the animals will not like it. I believe there are only a handful of pet friendly companies that do this.

I too will never put weed and feed down on my lawns as I have heard stories and don't want to take the chance especially with the little ones. Here is another thing to worry about:

Caution! Cocoa bean mulch is appealing to dogs, but it can kill them. Only two ounces of cocoa bean mulch can cause vomiting and diarrhea in a 50-pound-dog; more than 9 ounces is fatal for a dog that size.)

I am so sorry to read about your loss. These little ones can get into everything and it's so hard to retrace their steps and try to figure something like this out.

I hope you can find answers but more importantly I hope you find healing and peace.

I am just sick to hear about your loss. We all love our babies so much. I would be beside myself if I lost Dollie. My heart just aches for you. :(

I am so sorry to hear about your loose. My heart goes out to you and your family. I have had my little man for 2 weeks and I cant even imagin loosing him. Everything happens for a reason though and who knows what else would have been wrong had she survived.. could have gotten worse and she could have suffered. She is in a better place now as a yorkie angel and blessing loved ones that we have lost :) You are in my thoughts and prayers.
