| Iggy has an owie Yesterday my little boy started limping and licking between his toes. It's very tender, he hates when I touch it. I cut back the hairs and it's just very red. I put alcohol (while blowing on it), peroxide (no fizzing) and neosporin. Its still bothering him today. I can't see anything in there, just looks irritated from the licking. He's still limping. Any other home remedies you might think of or ideas I appreciate it. I prefer to wait for a vet (please don't beat me up about that). |

| A vet needs to see what is going on. He does need to wear an e-collar or a sock/shoe if not already so he can't lick the neosporin. So many things can cause redness and itchiness. Mites gather between toes, yeast, it's a spot where allergy itchies happens, they can get lick granulomas there, something may have bit him and irritated things, did he step on something and hurt himself somehow/could it be infected, etc., etc. He needs to see the vet.

| Yep you were right Well, after trying to treat Iggys foot at home, I finally took him to the vet. Well, you were right, he had something tiny in his foot and it got infected. He had surgery today to remove it and 4 baby teeth. He's just coming out of it and is walking pretty well. I just gave him some tiny bits of chicken and he wants more but I think I should keep it light tonight. Just relieved he's feeling better. I'll be using the sock later. It really helped before surgery but he hated it. Again thank you... |

| Glad to hear Mr. Iggy is feeling better. Chicken and white rice is a bland diet. I would follow whatever feeding directions the vet gave. What was it that he stepped on?

| I got no feeding instructions, so just got some chicken and a couple of green beans. It was a tiny piece of a thorn or weed, amazing something that small did that much damage. I was using peroxide and it never fizzed, alcohol and neosporin. Looks like I get to go out and do some weeding after it quits raining. Meanwhile i have to watch his every move out back. Thanks for asking! |
