Thank you for the poem...I cried when I read it because it really hit home. My husband and I just finished burying Phoebe. It ripped my heart out as the vet gave her the medicine but she went peacefully to sleep. The poor thing has been trying to sleep for days but couldn't seem to get comfortable. She can now sleep and play in heaven with her doggie pals. Our home will not be the same without her but I know I did the right thing.

Thank you again for your kink words...I needed to hear someone say....you are doing the right thing.

Michelle...I just saw this thread and am in tears for the sadness and grief you are feeling. I sent heartfelt sympathy and love. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your baby was so adorable and so blessed to be loved by you.

Dear Michelle and family:
How very very sad that your little one could not make it any more. She is happy now at the Bridge playing with all our little ones who have fled this earth and into peace. You had to do what you did and we feel the pain, shock, and sadness that you are all going through now. The tears will flow and you will miss her dearly, but the love and good times you shared will remain for ever.
Phoebe is in pain no more and what you finally did for her was compassionate and the only option.
Your sad experience has brought all I felt when my little Nik passed. I knew I had done the right thing as I had a very VIVID dream a couple of nights after she left me. Dream: " I went outside my home with Nik as I usually did for her to do her business and she suddenly changed into a lovely white bird and flew into the air. Someone said, if you put a treat in your hand she will come and get it. I did so and the bird flew down picked up the treat and flew away for ever." This gave me the sign I needed that she was really gone and that she was happy now and free as a bird. As the tears flow now when I recall this, I do know it helped to accept Nik's passing as real, as before that I was in total denial. So look for signs she will send you to help you deal with the terrible and unreal loss you feel now.
One other thing; I thought that by getting rid of all of her things it would ease the pain -but it did not. When I felt a little better I decided to put the few things that remained, including a lock of her hair, paw print, collar and tag and other little items in a frame as her memorial. I always have her with me now.
I know all this will make you cry more, but tears do help to mourn her loss and perhaps knowing you are not alone in your misery and pain will comfort you a little.
RIP little Phoebe, and love and peace to her grieving family.

I am so sorry for your loss. But without a doubt, you and your husband performed the last act of kindness you could for your precious baby. Remember, you didn't kill her, the ITP dealt her the mortal blow. What you did was end her suffering. You loved her enough to give her peace.

Never replaced. Always remembered.

I know that you know that you did everything you could for your precious Phoebe and that you did give her the greatest gift of love in the end.

Thank you everyone....I guess today started the healing process...everything I look at seems to remind me of her. She's in our family picture and her dark little eyes just seem to stare into my soul. I appreciate all of your kink words and I know I did the right thing...I just wish I could have fixed her.

I am so very, very sorry for your loss. You did everything possible for her and yet at the end even tho it broke your heart, you gave her what she needed. It's never an easy to make this choice, but it's last show of love for her.

I am so sorry for the loss of your baby girl. Just remember you really did the right thing for her. We lost our little Mandy 2yrs. ago from cancer. After a seizure we decided to let her go because the vet said she only had a couple of months to live and I couldn't stand to see her suffer. It is so hard to do. But the most unselfish thing we can do for them is to love them enough to not let them suffer. RIP baby girl.

You did the most unselfish and caring thing, and I know Little Miss Pheobe will still be laying next to both you and your huband tonight peacefully. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this right now, and I pray that you and your husband find peace in knowing you did the right thing, and she's not longer in pain and is doing zoomies all around heaven.

Prayers for you, and RIP Little Miss Pheobe, you are, and always will be loved.
