 RIP Phoebe
Dear Michelle and family:
How very very sad that your little one could not make it any more. She is happy now at the Bridge playing with all our little ones who have fled this earth and into peace. You had to do what you did and we feel the pain, shock, and sadness that you are all going through now. The tears will flow and you will miss her dearly, but the love and good times you shared will remain for ever.
Phoebe is in pain no more and what you finally did for her was compassionate and the only option.
Your sad experience has brought all I felt when my little Nik passed. I knew I had done the right thing as I had a very VIVID dream a couple of nights after she left me. Dream: " I went outside my home with Nik as I usually did for her to do her business and she suddenly changed into a lovely white bird and flew into the air. Someone said, if you put a treat in your hand she will come and get it. I did so and the bird flew down picked up the treat and flew away for ever." This gave me the sign I needed that she was really gone and that she was happy now and free as a bird. As the tears flow now when I recall this, I do know it helped to accept Nik's passing as real, as before that I was in total denial. So look for signs she will send you to help you deal with the terrible and unreal loss you feel now.
One other thing; I thought that by getting rid of all of her things it would ease the pain -but it did not. When I felt a little better I decided to put the few things that remained, including a lock of her hair, paw print, collar and tag and other little items in a frame as her memorial. I always have her with me now.
I know all this will make you cry more, but tears do help to mourn her loss and perhaps knowing you are not alone in your misery and pain will comfort you a little.
