| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Well... I may have celebrated too soon. She threw up twice this morning. I am waiting for my vet to call me back she was in an exam. It's wierd.. she doesn't wrench her back or try to throw up.. It just comes out.. almost like a baby spitting up... It reminds me of Acid Reflux. I took care of an infant for a year that had HORRID acid reflux.. and I mean awful... That is the first think I thought of.. On the bright side she does have an appetite, she is drinking and she is acting like her normal self. She had a normal BM this morning and last night as well. Right now, I am making her sleep next to me on the couch.. I am trying to keep her quite. So.. waiting for the vet to call and see what our next plan of action is.. Yesterday we talked about X-rays and and Ultrasound.. Keep us in your thoughts.

| If she isn't heaving, it is probably regurgitation. This has different causes than vomiting, so her vet needs to know exactly what is happening during an episode. An acid issue would be possible. The vet might decide to try pepcid or the like. If it continues, they will probably want to rule out megaesophagus. Is she pooping?

Yes, she has pooped twice. One last night right when I brought her home and again this morning. Her BM's are complelty normal as well. Small and formed. No diaherra at all. I explained in detail what was happening. Yesterday it was vomiting. Today is Regurgitation. I just dropped her off for In-patient care. She is having x-rays done. My regular vet will be seeing her as well. I am so upset.. Poor baby.

| Your Tayce's symptoms seem so similar to my Brutus'. He is on day 8 of vomiting, and today was his 4th trip to the vet. Good luck and please keep us posted on what your vet says. Brutus had normal x-rays and just did blood work today. If he is still sick on Monday they are referring him to a specialist and he isn't even 4 months old. I'll keep your baby girl in my prayers. |

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | What a day! We are both finally home! First, I have to say, thank you ALL for your thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me, and Taycie. The X-Ray results were good. The first thing my vet was the most concerned about was because of the regurgitation my vet was worried about her lungs and causing pneumonia. She said her lungs looked great and everything looked nice and clear! Her Esophagus looked good as well. She told me she looks like she has a full colon and she needs to go potty She thinks the regurgitation is because of the vomiting yesterday and things are a tender. She could have also have a mild case of acid reflux as well.. depending on our recovery we may be putting her on something... this will all play out if this becomes a issue.. My vet said, "I like to be pretty bold with the esophagus and treat this hard and quick".. I am so thankful for her! So... along with our Metronidazole and Pepcid twice a day. I am adding Metoclopramide Syrup and Sucralfate. The Metroclopramide Syrup I give her 30 minutes before her meal. So I set my timer on my stove.. Then Taycie eats her wet food RC mixed with water.. I raised her dish as well. Then I have to hold her like a gopher, (upright position) for 10 minutes after she eats. I just set my timer for this... and hold her upright! She likes it and she gives me lots of puppy kisses ![]() Then after 30 minutes after she has eaten I give her the Sucralfate. This comes in pill form.. I was instructed to add water to a syringe and it will dissolve in the water.. I am surprised how quickly it did! I have to do this 3 times a day for the next 3 days. She wants her eating at least half of a can daily split up every 8 hours.. Right now.. we are just waiting to give her the Sucralfate in about 10 min. She is resting on the back of the couch. She was also given another Cernia injection for nausea. She was however well hydrated so we did get to skip on fluids today. So, hopefully we will be on the road to recovery.

| Little Taycie gave you a scare. I'm so sorry she's still having problems, but it sounds like you have everything under control. She's in good hands, so I'm sure she will be ok very soon. I'll be keeping you and Taycie in my thoughts and sending prayers for little Taycie to be all better very soon.
