Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Why not take the pup to an emergency vet? Her life could be in danger.

| How does the puppy look and act today...first rule of breeding...do not freak out. These things are quite common with puppies...unless the puppies rectum is hanging out and dripping blood, it is JUST stuck poop... I see why people are afraid to ask a simple question here... I am sure her butt is sore and that is why she is acting different...get some meds and treat it...trim the hair, lub the butt area..add a bit of canned food to the dried so the stool will not be so hard... AND...if it is something worse, the vet will tell you and you can freak out...and when you are done freaking out, you fix it... Last edited by YorkieRose; 09-12-2011 at 06:55 AM. |

| Seriously, to think that anyone online can diagnose just based upon a person's description is unrealistic! The OP said the dog is not acting like she feels well....so we should say wait until morning??? And if the pup dies, then what? Whose fault would that be? Telling someone to go to a vet is not freaking out! It is good sound advice imho.

| I did not see anyone yell at her. I guess it all comes down to how you read things. Bottom line, people sometimes need to be told over and over to go to a vet...happens all of the time here in this forum.

| Better to be safe than sorry. Go to the vet and get the pup looked at.

| I see vaseline was mentioned to be used on the rectal area of this pup...I'd be cautious as vaseline can harbor bacteria. A water based lubricant would be a better choice in my opinion. Anyway, I hope we hear an update on this pup from the OP...
