| ![]() I saw those pics earlier in the thread but couldn't make out what the critter was. Never have seen a fly larva I guess. Is it deposited from a fly bite? Does it lay eggs during a bite?!?!?! Is that how the vet thought he got it?

| ![]() About 35 years ago, I had a cat that had never been outside a day in her life. She had a bot fly larva too exactly like Jersey Boys. I ask the vet how that could have happened? He said "well, the fly just got inside your house". So this can still happen even if your baby doesn't go outside to potty. We live in the suburbs now and I have been fighting house flies for a couple weeks. I've never seen so many in my life. Hubby says it because of the excessive heat. It's just so gross.

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | ![]() YUCK!! I didn't know that could happen. This is difficult to deal with I know but be grateful it isn't a tumor. I lost my beloved Foxman, a Chihuahua, two years ago from a recurrent mast tumor. My prayers and thoughts, Louise ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Just now seeing this thread! Wow! So sorry you and Jersey Boy had to go through this. Kind of miffed about the need for surgery though. Peek A Boo was in no pain at all with his, even as I worked on him to remove it. That larvae looks a bit different than the one I found. I'm sure there's a zillion different kinds though. Glad all went well.
