| Ann, it's great to hear Lucy is doing well. I am praying the vet has the best possible news for you and your little girl.

| Thanks for all the well wishes I really hope I get some answers tomorrow too! It is hard to believe (now that she is acting like herself) that she is sick or has any kind of issue she has so much energy and is doing so well right now! Did any of you with babies that have MVD ever notice that their poop turns gray?!

| Because the liver is not producing bile. Bile is what gives stools their color.

| I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through... I went through sort of a similar thing with my puppy just being sick too... Please get a 2nd opinion if possible. I was told that Carls liver levels were really high in blood work and everything was off balance and when I got him a 2nd opinion it turned out not to be that at all and just an infection, he was put on anti biotics and now he is fine. Please let us know how she is doing....praying for you all! |

| Hi everyone! Well I did NOT hear from the Vet today, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait to hear from them but with no luck so I will be calling first thing in the morning!! I am a little frustrated that they didn't call!!

| Since she is feeling well, has a ton of energy, eating normal etc. I am questioning what this could be. If it were a shunt wouldn't she still be having issues with eating, throwing up, etc.? I just wonder if I should have them run blood tests again? I will wait to see what they say about the bile test but I am confused. I am soo happy that she is feeling better but confused as to what could be going on....

| If she has gray stools, I would think something is going on. Might be time for a consult with an internal med specialist. I would definitely call the vet in the morning.

Still, be sure to follow up with the vet. As Linda wrote, something is going on that produced the initial test results.
