| ![]() That is real good news. However, I would make sure to get him into see a Board Certified Opthamologist.....he needs to see a specialist before any eye removing decision is made, or even what can be done for any change of sight. Good luck. |

| ![]() If it were me I wouldn't wait. Perhaps any further damage could be prevented with earlier intervention

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() If at all possible I would try and make the trip now. How great would it be to potentially save his eye or at least know you received the best advice. I would be afraid that waiting would limit the chances for the possibility of a full recovery. I will continue to keep Peanut in my prayers.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() If you can three hours away is nothing compared to the loss of sight or an eye. Go on and make that specialist appt, you won't be sorry, to have an expert examine the eye. Hugs to you, it is so scarey when your little one is unwell.

| ![]() So sorry to hear about this. I hope you have been to or will be seeing a specialist soon. My toy poodle lost his eye when he was only 8 months old. It was due to an incident with a German Shepherd (who was actually his very best friend and protector - but my pup was the instigator in this case). He was bit right above the eye and it punctured a nerve behind the eyeball. After putting the eye back in properly the vet said we should watch it for a few days. When it started to look like it was shrinking, he had us go to a specialist at A&M and there they put a prosthetic in. They actually removed the insides of the eyeball, filled it with a hard prosthetic and put it back in. It was always a tiny bit smaller than the other one and ended up turning a gray color (kinda looked like he had a cataract) but he lived to a grand 16 years with no problems after that. I'm not sure if your pup's eye is salvagable at this point but you might ask about that option versus removing the entire eye. Good luck!
