| Strange behavior Hi. I am new to the forum but I need advice. My wife brought home a miniature Yorkie 7 years ago and I was very upset that she would spend that much on a dog. Within 1 week I became very attatched to this little female Yorkie which the wife named Gracie. A couple of days ago I was sitting at my desk when Gracie came trotting into the office acting very nervious, walking around my feet, which is very strange. My first thought was she was having a slight seizure because my sister-in-law recently lost her miniature yorkie to seizures. After a few minutes of this strange behavior of Gracie, she came out of it and she was fine. She has had 2 more of these attacks since then and I am very concerned. She never has an actual seizure, she just acts very strange. She is a little overweight, and the wife has been taking her on walks at night. Gracie does not have the attacks during the walks that I know of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

| Hello. Well, the only advise I have for you is to talk to your vet, if it is a seizure, Gracie may possibly need medication, but a vet really needs to check her out because seizures can be caused some other problems that may need addressing.

| Welcome to YT. Sorry Gracie is having a problem. See if you can get this behavior on video. Then you can show the vet so he/she can see if for themselves. Good Luck. Hope all is well. |

No Longer a Member | To me that doesn't sound like a seizure...but I'm not a vet and she should be seen by one sooner rather than later just in case she is having some sort of neurological disorder. Has anything in your household changed at all in the last few weeks? anything that would seem insignificant to you could be changing her behavior. Did the city just spray a pesticide or anything like that? Was there a car accident in the front yard? Has a mother cat had a litter of kittens in the backyard? Any new visitors? Any new neighborhood dogs? Try to think of anything that is new and make a list to take with you to the vets office. Try to catch the behavior on film, since these pups can act perfectly healthy around the vet just to make us people look crazy. When was the last time she had a check-up with the vet? And last but not least, does she have poop stuck to her bum? Rizzo acts very very very nervous and strange whenever he has poop stuck to him. Good luck at the vets, I hope you get answers and that they're good ones. |

| At 7 yrs old & being overweight, it could be a skeletal problem. Try to pay attention if it's happening after she's been laying down resting or sleeping and watch her as she gets up. Also pay attention if it happens after she eats as this could be Liver Shunt . |
