I just saw this and am so happy that little Gracie is doing okay, but so sorry about your loss of the puppies. Get well wishes to Gracie and hugs to you and Bob!

I am also very glad that Gracie pulled through , and is home . I really think that if she was not seen by the vet, that her life would of been cut short too. It is very sad that the puppies did not make it. But, it is a very good reminder that breeding a yorkie is serious buisness. I am certain Gracie will be a lot better off now that she is spayed and can live a long healthy life.

I am very sorry for the loss of Gracie's puppies. What a very sad outcome and I wish that other learn from your experience. It must have been very difficult to see Gracie suffer only to end up with out puppies and an emergency c-section and spay. I'm sure that you fill hold Gracie a little closer after this experience.

A warning to all thinking about breeding its not all soft and cuddly warm puppie noses. Its costly and as breeders will tell you your home has to be adapted to them. So is ones time. Gracie is up and running around. I can tell she is in some pain. Because it was a ER visit and the vet took the risk to drive in our dear vet had no one to help him in surgery. My hubby and I had to be in surgery with Grace to help with the pups. Our very first c-section. Its not a quick procedure to spay or do a c-section. I never realised the time and worked involved with putting them under. This vet has been great. He rushed in to help a pup choking on a tiny tiny piece of chicken she got in her windpipe. He has been super. He is leaving next week so he will be missed. It will be nice to enjoy Gracie without the concern of puppies. Thanks again everyone!

It's a tough journey...One that I don't wish on anyone....breeding your girl, having her go through the gestation period and have her lose her pups. The emotions that are involved are very hard to go through. Even in a normal whelp; I know when I witness my girl's first hard contraction I always burst into tears. It was my decision to put her in that situation and I always pray that she realises that I do everything in my power to keep her safe.
