| I'm going to be reading labels from now on, I'll tell you all that much. This story has scared me silly and I won't buy any dog product that has it in it. If I do have to buy some human product that contains it as there is no other way to avoid it somehow, it will be kept from Tibbe just like the blood pressure medication I take is. But I'll sure take non-Xylitol products first whenever I can. I went to the ASPCA Poison Control website to see what they had to say about it but as I am not a member, could not get an article, but I am sure glad to know about this stuff from the info you all have provided here and what I could find on Google. I sure hope little Cassie's liver can make it and she can live. It does sound like Muffin is doing well. Thank goodness OP knew about this stuff or her little girls may be gone. Hopefully we will get a good update tonight.

| Just checking in on how you Cassie and Muffin are doing. I am glad about the better prognosis for Muffin and I hope that Cassie's test results are better. You are all in our thoughts and we wish only the best for your sweet furfamily.

| I will pray for Muffin and Cassie. My dog Hershey ate an entire pack of sugar free gum--about 18 pieces when he was just a puppy. He went into my purse while I was sleeping. Luckily I woke up and heard him under my bed. He had to stay at the vet overnight and they hooked him up to an IV. Luckily he was ok. Im sure your babies will be fine too bc you caught it early. Good luck. |

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've been thinking of and praying for you and your babies. I would never have thought this small amount of xylitol could do this much harm.

| To all my angels: I simply don't have the words to express my love and gratefulness to have you all in my life. I feel as if we are family. I simply do not know how I could have gotten this far without you, you love, and prayers and kindness. I am so blessed to have you all in my life, I just cannot tell you how grateful I am for your presence in my life. Just came back from the ER. They say that they are almost 95% sure Muffin can come home tonight after 8PM, if her liver panel is normal. She is acting perky, no clinical signs, so it is just a few more hours until I get to take my baby home, god willing. I hope I hope I hope! Cassie is still on Oxygen. They say she is acting a tiny bit more perky. She got through the transfusion okay. She is hanging in there. They do not want to do a liver panel just yet, because she is so tiny, they do not want to stress her system, and the treatment would be the same in either case, so they may or may not do it tonight. Or if not tonight, then tomorrow. Case is eating a little, and that is really all they have for me. I went in to see her and she recognized me immediately and came to the front of the kennel. She wanted me to pick her up and love her up, but the doctor said she did not want her out of oxygen because she did not want to stress her system. I was able to open the door for a minute or two and pet and stroke her and tell her how much I love her, and to be brave and strong and to continue to fight until she gets well. Then I needed to leave, because I could see her getting excited, and they didn't want her to get too excited. I need to check back for an update at 5:45PM and then after 9PM, so I will keep you all updated as I get the information. Finally, I think your prayers are working. I really do. Even though the improvements are small, they are going in the right direction. I am grateful for every little tiny step in the right direction. Please keep praying-I think someone up there is listening. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I feel as though I have holding my breath for 2 days straight. When Cassie and Muffin come home, I feel as if I will be able to breath again. Again, thank you my angels. Shellie |
