| ear problem I dont know if this is the right place to post this but back in December I bought my dog to the vet because he kept scratching at his ears. The doctor gave him some ear drops for an infection and optic clean ear drops to clean his ears daily. I just took him to the groomers to cut the hairs out of his ears because the vet said that just attracts dirt to his ears. I have been cleaning his ears once a day as it says on the bottle but all he does lately is cry and rub his ear against the bed and scratch his left ear. |

| I think I would have the vet check ears again. Maybe ear mites? Doesn't sound like your pup should still be having a problem with this. Good luck.

| I'd find a different Vet. This problem should have been taken care of properly the first time around. Poor baby!

| It sounds like your vet did everything right. There are a couple possibilities. He could have another infection or the drug didn't clear it the first time. This would be itchy and uncomfortable. He could also be irritated in there (may have scratched it open and/or cleaning everyday has caused an issue). Whatever the case, he needs to see the vet again. Hopefully they can get it cleared up. For a few dogs it's a chronic problem though (and allergies can just make it worse).

| Good luck. Let us know what you find out about your little guy. He may just needs another round of medication or this may be a new problem all together. Either way, hope you can get him to the vet. |

| I go to Dr. Clemente at South Shore Animal Hospital (New Dorp). She's been my vet for a long time. She was my first dog's vet too. I really like her. What vet do you go to? |

| Also check the ear wash you are using, if it's got alcohol in it that can be very irritating to the ears if used daily. I always use a non-alcohol ear cleaner. |

| as promised I am here with an update. I went to the vet and they cut a little more hair out of his ears the groomer didnt do a good job. They gave him more otic clean drops and a medicine for his ears because they are all read and irritated. He will be on that for 2 weeks and if it does not get better they said maybe he has an allergy and they need to test that |
