![]() The vet is not admitting it could have anything to do with the shot which is rediculous since she was fine before the shot. He and his office staff even acted offended that I requested the bloodwork be sent to a specialist. They said he normally doesn't release the bloodwork, which is rediculous since I paid him almost $400 to get it done and what does he want the poor dog to get more blood drawn? Absolutely rediculous. You really need to grill the vet about his knowledge of toy breeds, most of them have no specialty training in this arena. I don't know - maybe there is an area of this site where the names of the excellent toy vets are posted. I know that I am looking for one.

![]() I know that any person has the right to their own medical records with very few exceptions. And the exceptions have to do with those extremely sticky situations humans can sometimes get into.

www.acvs.org If he continues to balk at releasing records, report him to the veterinary board. Might be something you want to do anyway!

![]() Please pray for little Lilly. I took her to the specialist last night and all of her blood was great except her hemocrit is still falling. They just called me now and said they want to do a blood transfusion so I will take her over tonight or in the morning for that. It's so puzzling, she is acting a little tired but is playing, eating, drinking etc. I don't know what happened except maybe the ivermectin destroyed her bone marrow. I am hoping it can rejenerate. I am so frustrated and upset I could scream! Please send her your prayers....I know they will work!

![]() Saying prayers for your baby. I know Ivermectin can cause serious neurological issues, mostly in white dogs. There's a saying "white feet, don't treat." My Annie who is a maltese almost died from a serious case of demadex which the vet didn't want to treat with Ivermectin because she is white. I know this probably has nothing to do with your baby, I just wanted to share my knowledge. Maltese is not a breed normally affected by Ivermectin, nor are Yorkies. We eventually gave her the Ivermectin, but it was administered orally - not as an injection. Now she is seeing a homeopathic vet to monitor any future affects from her treatment. My son's Basset Hound had demadex, also and received Ivermectin orally - not injected. Please keep us updated. You are your baby's advocate - fight for her - you have the right to her treatment records and all of her test results. Insist on them.
