| Another update on sick puppy I think we are thru the worst of things now, stool this morning is formed (still soft) but not the watery runny stuff. He is eating the EN food well and he is full of energy, I had to stop him last night and contain him so he wouldn't wear himself out. By the way we finally named the little one, his name is Drake. Hopefully by late next week we will wean him back onto puppy food. |

| babbsiam44---Drake is 9 weeks old now, a few days after bringing him home he came down with diarrhea, vet checked him out and couldn't find a reason for it so called it stress, however right before he started getting better I again spoke with the vet and they mentioned a possibility of parvo altho they didn't test him. From what I have read the awful smell coming from my little guy does suggest that he had it. He is doing much better now tho and is being weaned back onto his dry puppy food. I am also adding in a little pumpkin to help fiber him up as stools are still soft. He is so full of energy tho so I feel good about him getting healthy. My husband no longer finds him so cute any more as I had to leave town for a few days and he had puppy detail. From what I am told it got pretty nasty here since he isn't fully potty pad trained yet, and he had to bathe the little guy as well. I am still finding it funny and wish I could have been a fly on the wall. |

| Hello and welcome to you and Drake. Did the Vet also check for parasites. Buster had Coccidia and Giardia when I first got him and had intermittent diarrhea due to it. I would see if he checked for that. Also a word of caution wait for any vaccinations until Drake is over his issues. It is better to have their resistance not be all ready compromised when they get the vaccination. I hope Drake is all better soon.

| the pumpkin and being back on his dry feed has sure helped, poo is back to solid state altho he sure does poo alot thru the day. To the above post asking if he was checked for various things..yes they tested for those but it was negative. I am so glad to be rid of that awful smell he was producing. I am now sure that he was getting his illness while still with the breeder perhaps that was her reason for selling the pups at 8 weeks. Either way I have learned lessons should I ever choose to purchase another pup. |
