| ![]() Oh, Pittsburgh is really close to Morgantown! We just moved from Bridgeport and I really liked the Morgantown area. Hope you can get there soon.

| ![]() I agree with everyone, you need to see a specialist at this point, but please make sure the specialist is very knowledgable with Liver Shunts and small breeds. Cornell and U of Tenn are two of the best places, but I am sure there are others. You are doing good with the new food and supplements. She 'may' need Lactulose and Metro as well. Do as much research as possible ![]() |

![]() I went to the university hospital here and spoke to a specialist who told me about diets she could have and how to best control the toxins from going to her head, I paid for the foods and antibiotics and lactulose etc and started our journey. The antibiotics were only good when or if she had a bleed in her tummy and I gave in on the lactulose as it was useless and she hated it, I got hills L/D dry and tinned food for variation and she liked it. Cassey Died of liver failure on 7th March this year, she would have been 11 years old in June. She was my baby, my sunshine and I miss her SOO much but I know she had a fantastic and fun life you would never have know she had anything wrong. Maintenance without surgery IS possible and life is normal for dogs like that IF you have the time and patients to deal with it xxxx ![]() | |

| ![]() My Louie has gained 2 pounds with being on Royal Canin Hepatic LS, lactulose and amoxicillin. He just had blood work done and everything was good. He has been fine the last 2 years and does not seem to have any problems but will need meds the rest of his life. We found out about his liver after he developed bladder stones and had to have surgery. My vet thinks he will live a long life with special care. ![]()
