Worried for little B! About a week ago, Brutus started coughing (occasionally) and it almost sounded like a cat coughing up a hair ball. That's the only way I can really describe it. Anyway, the last 24 hrs he has been coughing constantly and is very lethargic and his little body even feels a little bit warm. This morning he had a BM that was mucas looking stuff. I am starting to get worried and was just wanting to know if anyone was or have had similar problems! Thanks!

I hope Brutus is feeling better. I would try to get him to see the vet before Christmas. I don't know if all the vets are open for holidays. Good luck!!

| Yes, I'd agree he needs to see the vet. Best wishes for Brutus to feel better soon!

This baby needs to see a vet TODAY. He sounds like he has kennel cough & it can turn to pneumonia quickly. I don't mean tomorrow I mean ASAP.

My Bella had the same thing happen to her when we first brought her home. I actually had to take a video of her coughing since I couldnt find the right words to discribe it. I use to say the same thing.... it sounded like she was couging up a hair ball. And she also had the mucus looking poop. The vet put her on an antibiotic and she was better in no time. Take Brutus to the vet as soon as you can. Hope he is feeling better soon.

sounds likev kennel cough. Although with kennel cough they can appear fine and they act normal except when they try to rest, then the cough gets bad. An antibiotis will nt cutre the kennelcough, it would have to run it's course, but the antibiotic will prevent pneumonia.

My 2 year old Bella started coughing in mid Oct about 2 weeks after getting the new puppy Blossom. I took them both in and they gave them both meds for Kennel cough. Blossom (the puppy) stopped coughing, but Bella continued to cough. She was coughing up mucus, so I took her back to the vet and asked for an xray and they told me she was fine and that kennel cough can take a while to go away. Well, I waited but the cough continued and started sounding different and she stopped coughing up mucus, so I took her back...I ask for an xray AGAIN, they tell me its not needed and that we will just have to let it(the kennel cough) run its course, an that there was not any other meds to give to her because of her size, shes 5 lbs...So I decided to take her to a vet downtown, on the japanese economy, this morning. He did an xray right away and she has had bronchitis! Because she has been coughing so much and the force of the coughing, her trachea is collapsing. They gave her a shot, and 2 different meds that she has to take for the next 10 days. One is a follow up for the shot they gave her and the other is to help with the cough. I am so upset about it. My baby has been sick and they were blowing me off all this time We live on a military base in Japan, so the vet on base is completely useless. If they would have done an xray when I asked them too the first time, we could of prevented this. Leason learned, I will never take my babies there again. I will use the vet downtown from now on.....
