My 2 year old Bella started coughing in mid Oct about 2 weeks after getting the new puppy Blossom. I took them both in and they gave them both meds for Kennel cough. Blossom (the puppy) stopped coughing, but Bella continued to cough. She was coughing up mucus, so I took her back to the vet and asked for an xray and they told me she was fine and that kennel cough can take a while to go away. Well, I waited but the cough continued and started sounding different and she stopped coughing up mucus, so I took her back...I ask for an xray AGAIN, they tell me its not needed and that we will just have to let it(the kennel cough) run its course, an that there was not any other meds to give to her because of her size, shes 5 lbs...So I decided to take her to a vet downtown, on the japanese economy, this morning. He did an xray right away and she has had bronchitis! Because she has been coughing so much and the force of the coughing, her trachea is collapsing. They gave her a shot, and 2 different meds that she has to take for the next 10 days. One is a follow up for the shot they gave her and the other is to help with the cough. I am so upset about it. My baby has been sick and they were blowing me off all this time
We live on a military base in Japan, so the vet on base is completely useless. If they would have done an xray when I asked them too the first time, we could of prevented this. Leason learned, I will never take my babies there again. I will use the vet downtown from now on.....
