| Please get your baby to the vet. Just because she is older doesn't mean she should be put to sleep and only a vet can prescribe medicines for her. The vet can't make you have your baby put to sleep and must treat her. Her not eating and drinking alone could be fatal. Dehydration can quickly lead to organ failure. There's no way anyone on the internet can help you. Please just take her to the vet. Her symptoms must be treated and she must be made to eat and drink or you will lose her. It is not an act of kindness to avoid taking her in. If you want to try everything to save your baby, take her to the vet so she can be diagnosed and treated. I feel this is a very incomplete reply, but there is no substitute for a doctor in a case like this. At the least, your vet can give her fluids to re-hydrate her and treat her immediate symptoms. No creature can survive without food and water and she must be suffering in this condition. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your Bonnie.

| I have a little 13yr. old schnauzer that is doing the same thing. We got her to the vet because for sometime now she has had a heart murmer we have had to keep tabs on. Although she is still eating and drinking the cough is like a dry cough. Kinda like when a person has CHF. The vet put her on 2 different kinds of meds. Your baby needs help now if she is not eating or drinking. I hope they can help her. Getting old is terrible for them too. BLess her little heart. Just do everything you can for her and the vet will not put her down unless you requess it. Hoping for the best for you all. |

| I couldn't possibly say it better than Woogieman. The vet is not going to immediately put your dog to sleep. You want her to be comfortable and starving or dehydration is not going to be any kind of pleasant death. You are going to have to get her to a Vet. I hope that they can get her regulated. Getting old is not easy; for us or for our beloved dogs.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | As everyone said a vet visit is on order. I had a 6 1/2 year old that had collapsed trachea issues since she was 5. The vet and specialists kept her comfortable for 1 1/2 years by trying different medicines, so hopefully they can help your baby. One day my Gracie, wouldn't move and wouldn't eat or get up to potty. I took her right in and the vet said she is no longer enjoying life, she is struggling for every breath. When it comes that point it is up to us to do the hardest thing which is to end their suffering. I hope they can help your little one.
