I couldn't possibly say it better than Woogieman. The vet is not going to immediately put your dog to sleep. You want her to be comfortable and starving or dehydration is not going to be any kind of pleasant death.
You are going to have to get her to a Vet. I hope that they can get her regulated.
Getting old is not easy; for us or for our beloved dogs.
