I'm so very sorry. |
No Charge For Love This poem reminded me of Peyton in a way: NO CHARGE FOR LOVE A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups. And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post,he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy. "Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies." "Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat of the back of ! his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money." The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?" "Sure," said the farmer, and with that he let out a whistle. Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up.... "I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would. " With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg f his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands. " With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy. "How much?" asked the little boy. "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love." |
Oh, God Bless his little heart...I'm so sorry. Bitsy, try to take comfort in knowing Peyton knew you loved him and trusts you to let him go and find peace. |
I am so very sorry . You and Peyton are in my prayers. |
So very sorry you have to say goodbye to your little darling Peyton... Peace and more peace to you. |
Thank you everyone. I am doing a little better. I have some peace knowing we did all that could be done for our little boy. I have three kids I have to be strong for. It's funny how I'll say things to my kids and realize that I need to hear and accept it too. He is at peace now, we loved him all we could for his short little life. He loved us too. I have to rejoice in the joy that we had with him even though it was such a short time. God is so good. I really feel His comfort. Thank you so much for all the prayers. They really do help. We are going to get another puppy. We may wait until after Christmas as we have to be gone during New Years. I might even name the new one Peyton. I hope that doesn't seem bad to anyone. Nothing can replace what he was to me. Nothing. He will always have a very special place in my heart just for him. I feel like naming the new one Peyton might be a tribute to the first Peyton. I don't know yet...just rambling. Thank you so much for everything. This would have been so much more devastating if I didn't have all of you tp help me through it. God bless you and yours. |
Yorkieusa, thank you for the sweet story. It reminds me of Peyton as well. It was love at first sight...even knowing he had special needs. Thank you for your comfort. |
I was so sorry to hear about Peyton. You are a wonderful person to take in a special needs baby and go through all you did to try to make him well. I read all the posts and I was so hoping that things would turn out okay. I know Peyton will be spending Christmas at the Rainbow Bridge with alot of friends. |
I think Peyton II would be a great tribute to such a special little one. |
I'm so very sorry for your loss, RIP Little Peyton. |
I am so very sorry for what you have been through. Your strength is very admirable and Peyton was so very lucky to experience life together with you. |
So sorry about Peyton, My prayers are with you. |
I'm so very sorry but you made his short time as comfortable as possible, something he might not have had without you, and most importantly, you gave him love. |
Peyton could not of had a better mommy than you. You gave his little short life so much Love! God be with you. Peyton is saying Thank You mommy you did every thing you could for me. I will always be with you. Many HUGS to you. Little Peyton RIP |
I feel so terribly sad for you and yours. RIP sweet, little Peyton. I think naming a new puppy would be a great tribute to Peyton. I have a friend who lost a yorkie during surgery and when she got another, she named it after her baby that had passed. Bless your heart, sweetie. You're on my mind, and in my prayers. I send heartfelt sympthy, love and hugs. |
