| So it is morning now andeverything is still down in his tummy. He wanted to go outside earlier, and after we came back in he really wanted a treat, so I gave him a couple of doggie kibble...so far so good! |

| This is, exactly, what my kidz, Apple & Buzz did...Apple, a week after Buzz did this, vomited up foamy white stuff ( no food ) for about a day and a half, then, Sunday, she had an unblievable bout of diarreah, that looked like it came from a dog 3 times her size...She wasn't eating, during this time....Sunday night I gave her boiled white rice, and she hasn't had any symptoms, since...This a.m. I fed her normal food...A strange, and brief illness (about 48 hrs.)...Odly enough, a rottweiler, I walk, started w/diarreah, Saturday, and had it, yesterday, when I walked her...I'm taking a big bowl of white rice over, today, for her mom to feed her tonight...Wow, what is this thing that is going around, even in different states? |

| Well it has now been 24 hours and Chewie has held down everything he has eaten. He's had rice, chicken and some of his dog food. He is acting pretty much like his normal self. Thanks for all your help! |

| Update on Chewie: For the past several days, Chewie had been fine, up until Sunday morning. Exactly one week from the first time he got really sick. We woke up to Chewie getting sick in the bed (vomiting). He managed to vomit 2 more times after that in the next 10 minutes. So we started to think that it definitely was something he had been eating. I went downstairs to get myself some breakfast and I looked down at his food dish and I noticed that he had eaten a small portion of his dog food. He hadn't been eating it really all week, maybe a little bit, but not much. Then I started to think back over the past several months and he hadn't really been eating his dog food much at all. He had even lost a little bit of weight. So then I googled "dog vomits every week" and what came up was something about dog food recalls for Iams. Now I was aware that some of the food Iams makes was recalled. But the food I had been feeding Chewie was not on the recall list. I had double, triple checked. But on this particular website, the person had said their dog was eating the Iams Prohealth and it had actually killed their dog. The dog's food had been sent off and had come back positive for salmonella. So we immediately took up Chewie's food and gave him some canned pumpkin. As soon as he ate that (which he gobbled down), he was totally fine. So we're thinking it was the Iams dog food all along. We are lucky it didn't end up killing him. Now what do we do? Do I call Iams or the FDA? What do we feed Chewie? I have looked up what dog foods have been recalled and the list is enormous!!! I printed it out and it was at least 3 pages long. Any suggestions? |

Make sure you are storing the food correctly too. An opened bag of food should be used in a month. Preferably the bag should be kept in an airtight container and stored in a dry, temperature controlled place. I usually transfer food into a smaller container and wrap up the bag really tight. Always use all the kibble in the container before re-loading so that old kibble doesn't accumulate in the bottom. Wash and dry the container thoroughly before re-loading. The better the kibble, the fewer the preservatives, and the faster it will go rancid if not handled properly. Rancid kibble will make a dog very sick. | |

| This is all good advice...I never think about the kibble going bad. Something I should look into changing. I really hope your baby is better now. Give him a hug for me.
