Not sure if you saw my earlier post, but I had a pup that had the exact same type of diarrhea following a DHPP. All that I have read about reactions to the Lepto have not mentioned diarrhea. I really believe that if it was the vaccine, it was not Lepto. You may never know for sure, though. Frustrating.

| I have talked to two vets and neither of them relate the vaccine to Maggie being sick. Both vets say a reaction to the vaccine would be very different than what she had. Linda, it is very frustrating. At this point I just want Maggie to keep improving.

| I hope your Maggie keeps improving. One of mine had very similar symptoms last week. It just so happened that she was scheduled for surgery so my vet put her on metronidazole. We couldn't put the surgery off so she also got some IV fluids (until she chewed through the line) which I think did help her diarrhea in the long run. Because of her surgery he sent her home with both the metronidazole and the clavamox. She was much more depressed than I had ever seen her, but it's been a week now and she is just now starting to get back to her playful troublesome self. We never had any vaccinations, and so far my other dog is not showing any signs of being sick at all.

| I'm not saying she had a 'reaction'... I'm questioning whether or not she has contracted the disease from the vaccine.... I'm waiting for a call back from my vet...

| Keeping Maggie in our thoughts and pray she continues to improve. I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to MY Maggie. |

| Those symptoms don't sound anything like Lepto to me.

| Sorry for the alarm! Both sources I checked with further said this can only happen if a bad batch of vaccines were made... chances of that happening: a gazillion to one. hope Maggie is continuing to improve....

| Thanks to everybody for the warm wishes and for all the help. Maggie is continuing to improve. She's not back to 100% yet. She is still somewhat depressed, I'm hoping this will get better as well. She isn't eating as much as before but that's ok. She is drinking water, which is a good sign. She is almost finished with her meds, probably another couple of days worth to go. Again, thanks to everyone!

| Happy to hear that Maggie is on the road to recovery! I am sure it is just taking time because she was so ill. Poor baby. She is lucky to have such wonderful parents!

| I'm glad Maggie continues to get better. I hope this time next week to hear she is feeling more like herself.

| Maggie is having diarrhea again. I don't know what to do. Friday evening she wasn't eating as much kibble as she usually does. On Saturday I noticed she had some soft pooh, today she has diarrhea. She is hardly eating anything...again. She is eating boiled chicken and she had some canned potatoes, which she seemed to like (yes!). Again, she is laying around, not her usual active self. If this continues, I think I will ask the vet to do more bloodwork to see if anything has changed from last week. I feel so bad for her, breaks my heart to look in her eyes and see that she doesn't feel good.

| I'm sorry Maggie is having trouble again. I wonder if some pure pumpkin would help her?

| Jeanie, have you taken her to a Specialist Emergency Clinic? It is too back that a few days ago she was getting better and now this. I am hoping that she gets vetter again, real fast, and that you get to the bottom of what the cause is so that it can be fixed. |

| I haven't but that is what dh is suggesting I do as well. I will have to get a referral from my vet before we can go. She got better for a couple of days and now this. She finished the last of the medicine this morning but is seems the medicine didn't help much. Yes, we need to get to the bottom of this.
