To update everyone on Kobi.
He is a bit weaker in his back legs, very unsteady when trying to walk. But he is still walking. He is happy, in no pain, continues to bark at the cats and play with his toys the best he can. His appetite is still great. I continue with swimming, ROM, and limited cart use. When in the cart, he drags his back legs. He is hesitant to move. This breaks my heart. I am thinking about getting the Dogger; it is a stroller for dogs. This way I can still take Kobi into the woods and incorporate physical therapy in a wonderful environment. I am worried that I am not in shape to push the Dogger. Maybe while I am waiting for winter to break, I should be getting myself into shape. Kobi isn't the only one who needs physical therapy.

I am so sorry....sounds like it has been difficult for you. It sounds like Kobi is a happy boy....I think sometimes we get wrapped up in thinking for them. My guess is he is just fine and you are doing everything right! Try hard not to put yourself through a lot .... you have been an awesome mom to him! I think sometimes we have too many expectations of ourselves.
Enjoy the time you have with Kobi....each day is all we have. Nothing is ever promised to us beyond this moment in time.

If he is getting weaker, do you think there might be another issue? The laminectomy may have relieved some pressure from T12-13, but could there be another disc that's becoming more of a problem? I would be concerned about the condition worsening.

By the way, I'm glad you're getting a stroller! I think it's one of the best things we did for Layla!

When I took Kobi to the neurologist, he suggested that it could be leakage from the spinal column where the surgery was performed. Due to his age, further surgery is not an option. His MRI did show other disc involvement but they only wanted to operate on the lower areas. I focus now on comfort measures and physical therapy. Thank you for thinking of us.

Hi Everyone, I again just want to Thank you all for listening and giving Kobi and I your attention and invaluable information. Kobi is trying so hard. He is in no pain but seems to get frustrated. It just breaks my heart. I don't like to say this but I cry almost daily for him. I try not to let him feel my emotions. We know each other so well. He can always tell when I'm happy or sad and me with him as well. Even with therapy, ROM and his "equipment" I guess I'll call it, he just seems to get a bit weaker in his rear legs almost daily. He has been my All since the day I laid eyes on him. I truly Love all my fur babies. They are all so special. Kobi was my very first Yorkie He never left my side. I'm sorry, I just can't explain how close we are. You all know what I'm saying. I feel like I am being so selfish, please forgive me. I'm so lucky he is still with me. There are you who have suffered much more than myself. I just need to talk to all of you. So sorry for rambling. I'm so glad I have all my friends here to talk to.

I know the pain of watching a beloved pet age and have serious medical issues. What I will say is that with the ones I have been through it with, I have fond memories of those last days. In the end, my pain was awful, but I took comfort in knowing that they knew I was there for them.
