It is 8:15 am here, and leaving in another hour to take Carlo in to the Specialist for another Larger Tissue Sample from the nodule on his liver. THey have to knock him out and use the Ultrasound to hit the spot. Should have the results back early next week if it is Mast Cell Cancer and Lymphoma. His regular vet seems to believe it will be Mast Cell, and I will also get her thoughts on how to proceeed. I am realizing it may not be fair to Carlo to put him thru 3 more months of CHemo to have him around for an extra month or two. As his vet said, if the cancer does not get him, and we treat it, at his age, something else will go wrong such as heart or Kidneys. I can't believe I have had him almost 11 years. It seems like a few years. then again, Maxine is 13 1/2, but she looks like a Pup, and Carlo looks like me, an old man. Well, I do appreciate all of the well wishes. Whatever the decision, it will be well thought out, but very hard regardless.

My thoughts are with you Steve; with all of us who are facing or have faced similar decisions in the past. It's never easy to know what is right. Thinking of you today and saying a prayer for peace, guidance, and wisdom as you walk with Carlo through his journey; his illness, his life.

Just got home. He is still quite groggy, and again, I had to lift him in the Vehicle, which is no easy task. He slept the entire way home. He is now sleeping on his bed. He did not even look at his food bowl. The Anesthesiologist tech said it is a decent size mass. She believes it is Round Cell, which Mast cell is part of. Will know more next week when the results come back. Will take it easy on him today, no walk, and just left him relax. Even Maxine is being nice to him, and that is hard for her.

Good thoughts are still being sent to Carlo today. I know this must be so hard on you. Please let us know how he continues to do and what the report shows next week.

I am keeping Carlo in my prayers. It is the hardest decision to make but I find most of the time they let us know when they have had enough. Carlo is a fighter and hopefully he has more spunk in him to fight this.
