| ![]() Sounds like either a UTI or bladder stones. If you have a vet you can see on a Sunday, I would do that rather than wait until Monday. He probably could wait, but I would not be comfortable doing that if it were my pup. If it were a bladder stone he could end up with a blockage and have more problems. And, if an infection, better to be treated asap. Good luck! ![]()

| ![]() I can only tell you what I would do. It is up to you. Be sure to keep a very close eye on him to make sure he is passing urine. Good vet care is rarely cheap. I don't know what the difference is with the old vet vs the new vet and don't know what happened with your pups shots; but sometimes they do have reactions and it is not the fault of the vet.

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | ![]() Paris didn't show signs of pain either, just one day he had blood in his urine and the next day he was in surgery for bladder stones. Better safe than sorry, get to the doctor asap. Good Luck and let us know. |

| ![]() As to how your dog got the UTI? -- Same as people -- bacteria gets in the urethra and goes back up the urinary tract. Keeping a higher acidic pee can help deter bacteria growth. Higher meat content in their diet can help that. So, in that light, what you feed your dog can actually determine the potential for UTIs. Sometimes it is a matter of sanitary problem -- fecal matter getting in the urethra; but they can happen even if the dog is kept well cleaned. I would keep taking your dog's temp today if you do not plan on taking him to the emergency after-hours vet. UTI's can go bad very quickly. Our tiny dogs can succumb to infections so quickly it is hard to believe. That is why I would seek a vet today and get anti-biotics started.

| ![]() I would not wait until Monday to take him in. Urinary tract infections are very painful and get much worse quickly. If he has bladder stones one could become lodged and cause a blockage. |
