I've tried to write this post a few times now since yesterday and every time I finished I just couldn't post. I'm heartbroken. Simba went in for his testing and I found out that he is in renal failure.The vet said there was nothing much we can do at this point, but make him comfortable until we and he is ready to go. I am beating myself up about this. I just, don't know I feel lost. I thought I should update those who might have been wondering what was going on.

I'm sorry you got such bad news. I know nothing about kidney failure. How old is Simba?

Hon, I'm so sorry about the news of yr cat Simba. Our first cat also had renal failure which is extremely common in older cats unfortunately. He was also 15. He grew up with my daughter & part of the family. I understand the hurt and sadness you are going through. It was the first time I had gone through something like this & it was extremely hard in determining the time to let him rest @rainbow bridge so he wouldn't suffer. My thoughts & prayers are with you & Simba. HUGS!!

I'm so sorry. It's been a little over a year ago that I lost my 18 year old Amanda to multiple organ failure. Even though I knew I had been blessed to have her that long, it hurt terribly to lose her. Now I can take comfort in knowing that I gave her all the love I could and I hope you will find some comfort in that with your beloved Simba.

How heartbreaking. We lost our 16 y/0 yorkie, Alex, in July. He had been in renal failure for two years. Our vet, was wonderful, and in addition to medical treatment, said to enjoy each day as a gift, and that we would know when it was time to let him pass. We did. The pain was nearly unbearable. I feel your pain.

My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry to hear about Simba. I wish I had something great to say that would help ease your heartbreak, but I don't think there is anything. Everyday we have with our babies is a blessing, at times like this, I've tried to hold on to that.
