My dear friend who is a retired breeder, had a puppy born with a cleft palate. All the vets wanted to put this baby down, but my friend was adamate that she would do whatever was necessary to give this baby a chance at survival. Against all odds, she saved that baby's life, SHE TUBE FED that baby to prevent aspiration pneumonia, and that baby is now 11 years old, weighs 8 lbs, and is doing just fine. Over the years, he has had some cases of aspiration pneumonia but he responds well to his antibiotics....he has been a handfull and a great added expense, but my friend has hung with this baby she produced and has provided him a wonderful life! She adores this boy and he has given her an added deminsion to her knowledge base she would have never experienced if she had put that baby down. | |
