| Help, I am not sure what to do! Just a little history to start off.. Bailey is 9 years old and weighs about 5 lbs. Over labor day weekend she had a bladder stone about the size of my thumb removed that had large crystals growing from it. Needless to say it was very painful for her! She has always been fed s/d food and fo rthe bast couple of year the mature adult formula. When she came home from the vet she began to poop blood and wan't eatin gat all. I figured it was because of the bladder surgery her appatite was low but the vet wanted to see her because of the blood in her stool. Well the ver gave her (barrium...I think that is right?) and now she hasn't had a bowl movement since Sept 7, 10 days... Her appatite is back up and we are eating Hills CD canned food in the morning and her mature adult hard food at night. She drinks her water also. Her tummy looked really swollen today although she does not seem to be in any discomfort. She is still running around, urinating normally now and all together seems happy, just no bowl movement. We are going back to the vet tomorrow morning but I wasn't sure if there was any advice to help me get the worry off of my mind! (I really didn't want to try the pumpkin and olive oil stuff since she has already been through so much lately and I wasn't sure how it would react in her system??) Thank you! |

| I'm sorry Bailey has had such a hard time and I understand your reticence in putting her through anything more. I don't think the pumpkin on the spoon would hurt any and if it were me, I would probably try that, too. If she is able to go for walks, I'd definitely recommend that because the exercise would help her bowels to move. Let us know how she does. Please keep us updated.

| You should call the vet to ask him. This is many days to go without releasing, especially since the last time she had blood in it. This is not normal. Did I understand this correctly, 10 days and there was blood in it the last time? If so, call him now. Quote:

| Hoping you have called the vet by now, if not you really need to ASAP she may need an enema. You can give pumpkin or green beans for constipation. I have found that the green beans works much faster for severe constipation. No need to cook them, I use frozen and run them under hot water for a minute or two. Please update soon. |

| I'm just seeing this. I hope your baby is ok! Has she seen the doctor yet this morning?

| We are back from the vet and everything seems fine. They did an x-ray to make sure and there were no sign of her being impacted...so we are on a green bean/ pumpkin diet along with the Hills C/D for a little bit until we get the analysis back from the stone. She still hasn't pooped but the vet did notice some stool in her colon that should pass soon. Other than this she is still our enertergetic little Bailey! Thanks so much for the well wishes and I hope this thread will help someone else out too! |
