| Zoe hurt her leg We are camping and DH brought Zoe to bed this morning since she wasn't very active. Our closet mirror goes wall to wall next to the bed. She saw her reflection moving and must have thought it was another dog after her and she quickly backed off the bed. She loves all dogs and all people so don't know why she suddenly panicked at her reflection. She was immediately taken to a vet (who thankfully is on the same street) and she took x-rays and said Zoe has a bad sprain...thankfully there was no breakage). She was concerned that Zoe's knee was out of place but after viewing x-rays twice she said it just seems to be a bad sprain. So Zoe is on anti-inflamatory meds. She walks with a limp and holds the injured foot up. She has been content to just lie in her bed or on the floor most of the day except for small potty trips outside. She won't use the pee pads inside. I can tell she's in a lot of pain..my poor baby.

| Buster is limping too I am so sorry to hear about Zoe. I hope she feels better and heals quickly. Buster hurt his leg as well. He was playing with his girlfriend and he jumped off of a wooden deck and jammed his right front leg. He didn't yelp but I noticed him limping and cut their play time short. He still was limping the next day so I brought him to my vet and she said he had a bad sprain. She has him taking Arnica for the discomfort. I was wondering what anti inflamitory Zoe is taking. He has not gone out for walks or to play for a week now. Needless to say he is quite upset by that and has let me know on numerous occasions. We had a friend visit yesterday and he was so excited he jumped up and down and then he yelped and held his arm out to the side so I think he will have to be quiet for at least another week |

| Buster Brown~sorry to hear your little one is hurt too. Zoe yelped and cried but even if yours didn't I am sure the sprain is as bad as hers. The vet said to keep her from trying to do anything strenous, and no long walks, jumping, etc, but didn't give her anything for pain....maybe because we're traveling and she couldn't monitor the effects. But the medication you asked about is called Metacam Oral Suspension. Hope Buster heals soon! Keep us informed.

| Extra attention?? It's not possible!! Not enough hours in the day for 'extra' attention. LOL

| How is Zoe doing? Don't want to frighten you, but if this does not improve, you should have it checked again. Could possibly be a torn ligament in her knee. That will not show on xray.

| Zoe is doing much better. She still holds her leg up but at times she puts it down on her own. She's been getting frisky and even took her ball last night and was pushing it away so she could 'run' and catch it. She is taking her medication daily. We'll be heading home tomorrow so if it doesn't heal I'll take her to her own vet but so far so good.

| Thank you for giving me the name of the medication. I hope Zoe is feeling better. Buster is still limping. I am going to go back to my vet for another checkup if he does not improve this week. I will mention the medication to her. |

| The medication must have worked because Zoe is running around as if it had never happened.
