| Choking? Burp? Seizure? WTH? Okay so the other night I had given Piper a little treat, like I always do. I was cleaning house and a friend of mine was over so I gave it to her and she seemed fine. Next thing I know she is SQUEELING bloody murder. My friend was laughing thinking it was because she was chasing her tail and scared of it. I ran out and realized something was really wrong. When I held her she calmed down and wasn't squeeling but looked absolutely terrified. Anytime I moved her she started again. I tried doing a few things, looking down her throat, feeling her throat, doing a sorta modified heimlich sorta thing keeping her inverted and nothing. Next thing I know she burps and all is well again. She was super jittery and frightened for a while after and she panted a lot. I had given her the treat before no problem, but I have since thrown them all out. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened? I'm really scared about it happening again if it's something blood sugar related or something. The fact she burped though, makes me think different. She never vomited, bled, anything like that. HELP!?! |

| YES! I was crying and terrified. She's 12 weeks old. I was headed out the door with her to go to the vet when she burped. Thank goodness. I honestly thought I was going to lose her. I had gotten a flat tire a few hours before and my husband was gone all week doing Army training. ARG! |

| My Yorkies are very sensitive to any noises their bodies make, like tummy growls and passing gas. They try to run away from their butts when they get gassy (which isn't very often). I wonder if your little one had strange feelings in her tummy before she burped, causing her to freak out? Also, just a note: My Yorkie is a sweetheart with me, but is very fearful of others, and will go to major lengths to separate herself from anyone but me.... well even me sometimes too. Don't expect a young puppy to be friends with your friends... in time yes but when they are so young it can be risky to do so. Hope she's okay now...
