I am so glad that Max test results came back positive . Hopefully he is okay and that whateve this is will clear up on it's own. Praying for you and gorgeous little Max . |
Will continue to pray for you and Max. Really hoping it is a simple thing! :) |
I was reading all these posts, and I wish you the best of luck. Good news on the blood tests, your little Max is gorgeous! I couldn't help but wonder if he had sun stroke at one point. Is it hot there right now? He might have gotten sun stroke at his breeders, and perhaps has not quite recovered yet. Just a thought. Good luck. He is lucky to have you! |

This is a web site dedicated to liver shunt issues, they are very helpful, most vets know little about this disease. Peggy Banks |
First chance I got to check in on you today and I am so happy that the initial bloodwork came back normal. One baby step at a time. You and Max are in my prayers! |
Have your vet do a bile acid test on your puppy, this would be the best test to check for liver shunt, it cost about $125.00. The breeder should have done a test on both of her dogs before breeding them, ask if she did this and what the results were. All good breeders do this. I will keep you and your puppy in my prayers. |

So sorry to read about your new baby. Just a little FYI, my 3 yr old female was having a really tough time....not eating, losing weight, lethargic; just wasn't herself. I went through all the vets in my little town with no results. One of them finally recommended Gulf Coast Vet. Specialist in Houston. They were great there! She was finally diagnosed with Addison's Disease. She now gets daily meds as well as a shot every 25 days and is doing great so far. I would really recommend this place if you have to get more in-dept exams. Sooo----just some food for thought. |

You're over the first hurdle, hopefully his BAT will come back okay. I can't tell you how happy I am that you are in this all the way for Max, I didn't think you would be able to return him. ;) Please try to remain positive and enjoy Max, although I know it is hard to do when you are so worried and then see him have one of the seizures. Hopefully he will keep you entertained while you wait for the next results. He is so precious and you really are blessed to have him and be able to give him the help he needs. |
First, I'm just a lay person. I can only comment on what I know for sure. I want to share an experience I had with my cat. About a year ago she was being treated with Atopica for a skin condition. She developed tremors, she would just sit there and her leg would start to shake. I read the side effects on the insert of the meds and low and behold, in very, very small print, and listed as one of the very rare side effects was tremors. The vet called the manufacturer and of course, they had never seen that as a side effect. I wasn't taking any chances, so we switched to prednisone(unfortunate, however, no choice), and while it took awhile for the Atopica to get out of her system, the tremors went away. I'm only telling this story in reference to the sentinel that Max had. Just wondering if they are still considering that to be an issue? I'm really hoping it is something as simple as that. Hugs for you and Max:girl_hug: |
