YorkieTalk Newbie! | My Yorkie is disoriented, lethargic and shaky My Yorkie is disoriented, lethargic and shaky! She is 4years old and weighs about 9lbs. She bounced around the house like a pinball for about 10 min then stopped dead in her trax and proceeded to shake, wobble and her eyes were twitching. It looked like she had a minor stroke and she also threw up a little. She looks confused and stairs at me like something is wrong then paces around the house! We took her to the ER last night and they said blood work and x-rays looked good! We could not get her in for an MRI today but plan on it tomorrow! The vet said we should get a neurology test, so I'm assuming thats is what the MRI would be for. She is just acting so sad and breathing pretty slow, her one eye closes while the other stays open. |

That is definitely a seizure from the sounds of it! My girl experienced seizures and would be breathing low, stare into the air and look glossy as well as wobbly on her feet. I think an MRI sounds like a good idea. I pray for your baby. | |

| Do you have an update yet ? This could be GME or Chiari malformation and both will show in an MRI. I hope you got the MRI and results back and they found out what is wrong with your baby. Please update as we all worry with you and for you. |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Thank you for all the advice and good wishes. Our vet feels that this seizure could have been onset by stress or over-stimulus. She has put Bear on xanex and we are to wait a week to see if another seizure occurs. Her blood work and x-rays show that she is perfectly healthy. If she does have another seizure on the xanex then we know it is a neurological problem and not an environmental/behavioral issue. Bear has always been an over-agressive and anxiety ridden since she was little. I will update all in a week. Wish us luck and again thank you for all the support. |
