Sandy's definitely getting better. He's back to himself - playful, eating his kibbles, playing with his toys... We try to stop him from running and jumping but he seems to run faster with his 3 legs!

He's doing so much better this week. He's playing but sometimes I can see he's tired walking on his 3 legs. 4 more weeks to go before the vet removes the cast.

Aww... Jersey is so adorable!!

Here's Sandy... the day he fell down.. I still remember how he looked that afternoon. It breaks my heart whenever I think of that sad face. The other one is him with the cast on... and he's sleeping on our bed now at night - because daddy said so.

My heart breaks for little Sandy. We wish you well Sandy, you sure are a little cutie pie!! Enjoy the time in the bed with Mommy and daddy they will take good care of you!!!

Just checking in on Sandy. How's he doing? I'm sure he is just fine except for that pesky little cast on his leg. We wish him a speedy recovery!

I am so sorry your little Sandy broke his leg, but glad that the surgery went well. I am sure he will be fine after this! I have fostered three pups recently who had broken legs and all of them have recovered well!

One thing I want to caution you about is letting him sleep in your bed while this other leg is healing. If he jumps off of your bed, he is at risk of re-injuring the leg or breaking another leg! This happened to another YTer some time back....her pup broke the other front limb. When they have a broken leg already, they don't have that limb to brace them so they are jumping in an odd fashion. Please, please be very careful in letting him on your bed or other places where he could jump. I know it is difficult not to hold them and love on them when they are sick and/or injured; but we need to think about accidents!

I haven't been around for a while... Just got married 2 weeks ago

Sandy was at our wedding. We brought him to the vet again for another follow-up before that and were told he's doing very well. The vet wants him to keep the cast on for another 3 weeks. Now he's trying to walk on 4 legs again (sometimes). We're taking him for another checkup next week.

Congrats on your wedding!!! Sandy is a little doll!! I'm sure he had a blast at your wedding, your guests must have gone crazy over him. That's so nice that Sandy was able to share your special day.
So glad everything is going well with his recovery and good luck at the next check up.

What a cutie. Sounds like he is recovering nicely. hen Pixie had her Lp surgery recently, I would let her on the bed only in a crate, or I bought an xpen for guinea pigs and used that on the bed so she had a little more room but couldn't get off the bed.
