I still have the ashes of Julz in my jewerly box (it's a tall standing kind) I see her EVERY day...I just don't have it in me to part with her, it's not like we live in the city, we have a house, i just couldn't stomach the idea of her being alone in the dirt...

I had to do the same thing with my chi in Feb. I know how you feel. My chi was 11 years old same thing could not stand or walk and was doing her business all over herself just know you did the right thing no more pain or suffering for him. It does get easier with time he will be in your heart forever.

I know there is not much that I can say to help the way you feel right now but know that a lot of us have walked these steps you are walking now. We feel your pain and trust me when I tell you the pain does ease with time. The good memories will become stronger and these painful ones, although will never be forgotten will diminish and allow the happy times to shine through. RIP precious Guliver

Your postings really help me. I was working from home today just to keep myself busy and not to think and cry. I could hear his steps and sometimes he was drinking water. I have so many nick name for him that I used to like saying them out loud, and now I cant say them to anyone. I know I did the right thing so why am I feeling so guilty?

Please do not feel guilty. You have shown one of the most wonderful acts of love that there is. It is never easy to say good bye to one of beloved pets, they are a huge part of our families. I know that it is hard to believe that at this moment but you have truly shown your love and care for Guliver.

I was like you when I had to make that decision for my precious 18 yr old Heidi. I felt so guilty for doing it but I know in my heart that it was the best decision for her as she had been sick for the last 3 1/2 yrs of her life and really sick the last few weeks. Guliver knows how much you loved him and you made that terrible decision because of that love. Guliver was so lucky to have you and he is so happy to be free now so please don't feel guilty.
