| Bleeding dew claw My mom's jack russell just ripped one of her dew claws. We have washed, bandaged it. We plan on taking her to vet first thing in the morning. My question is how much bleeding is normal. To me it seems like she is bleeding a lot. But what is considered alot? We are in a rural area and are about 1 hour from emergency vet. I heard that the dew claws have a lot of blood vessels so it can bleed profusely Is this the case?

| Thanks maxmom! The bleeding has stopped! Of course she has already chewed off the bandage! I looked at it and it does not look as serious as we initialy thought. She's going to the vet in the morning to be looked over tho. Thanks again, i would have never thought about dusting the wound with flour but it does make a lot of sense! I will file that away for future reference! Yorkie talkers are so clever!!!
