| ![]() What are the symptons of kennel cough? Do they sound like their trying to "hack up a fur ball"? Do they then vomit clear slimy liquid or foam? Mine has done this a couple times today.

Mine did the same thing when he was about 12 weeks old. Turns out he had pneumonia.

| ![]() Hello everyone! Oliver had his vet visit yesterday...and within 5 minutes the vet diagnosed him with kennel cough. The vet started Oliver on antibiotics. He said that we caught it early enough that it shouldn't take too long to get rid of, but he could still have it for 6 weeks. ![]() We ended up unexpectedly getting paid by someone who owed us money, so we were able to pay it off instead of being billed! YAY! What a relief. ![]() We called the breeder, but basically he told us that none of the other puppies in his litter had kennel cough, so basically we were out of luck. ARGH! I really hope that those laws take into effect soon so that other puppy mommies don't have to deal with all these vet bills right after they get their new baby. ![]() However, the vet said that dogs can pick it up pretty much anywhere nowadays. They don't even have to be in direct contact with other dogs! He said that if a dog has it down the street, that's it's possible for another dog to contract it. Oliver hasn't been in contact with other dogs, but he has gone pretty much everywhere with us, so maybe that's how he got it? Oh well. All that matters now is getting my baby better! |

| ![]() That's exactly Oliver's symptoms. BUT...take him to a vet in case it is pneumonia or a collapsed trachea! Plus your baby would need antibiotics anyways. |

Although I still bet he was incubating it when he left the breeder's, if you've taken him out he may have picked it up there. Until he has had all his shots, he shouldn't be exposed to dangerous puppy diseases. Pet stores, dog parks, common area in neighborhoods and apartment complexes all can harbor germs even if there are no dogs there at the moment. | |

| ![]() I'm pretty sure he was incubating when we got him, but there's no proof so there's not much I can do. He hasn't been around other dogs, but he has gone to the park and over to my parents with us...he even went to the 4th of July fireworks with us. Whenever we go somewhere, he's always in my arms. He even sleeps with me. I spoil him. ![]() |

| ![]() He just has one more series of puppy shots to get, plus rabies. He gets those in two weeks. Until then, he's staying home...I don't want him to get even more sick. ![]() |

I will call the vet today and get an appointment. One day they act like they are totally fine and then the next he doesn't act like himself. I am very glad your baby is doing better. We could not survive anything happening to ours, he is all we got! Thank you.

| ![]() At first it was just a few times...and then it really hit in the middle of the night and we thought he was choking. I hope your baby feels better! |
